For immediate release: FEMI THE DRIFISH OF THE 5TH L RELEASES SOLO PROJECT -- “The Clown With No Circus” - An Alternative Hip Hop Rock Album  Baltimore, MD - A face and voice that is familiar to the DMV’s underground entertainment scene will be making new noise in the new year -- Femi “The DriFish” Lawal of hip-hop influenced spoken word poetry band/duo The 5th L has released a solo project – an alternative hip-hop rock album entitled “The Clown With No Circus”. The Dri Fish has been a professional performance artist for over twelve years, honing his audacious lyrical skills and intense stage presence at venues across the country, ranging from private parties and nightclubs to college campuses. As one of the two lyricists for the The 5th L (he shares these duties with his partner in rhyme David "Native Son" Ross), he has performed on BET's Lyric Cafe' and shared stages with artists like Musiq Soulchild, Saul Williams, Ursula Rucker, Raheem DeVaughn, Bill Cosby, and KRS One. This project does not signal the demise of The 5th L as they have existed over the past seven years and three CD projects. But it will allow Femi to offer audiences “a more intense, more concentrated version of me, my thoughts, my verses, my poems. It is me putting my most creatively raw and uncut self to music for your listening pleasure and horror, because solo or duo I’m still sick with it.” The first two promotional releases from the project, “Trapped In My Mind” and “Representing Lovely” can be heard online at www.stinkifacemusic.com/theclownwithnocircus.There will be additional performances at venues all over the DMV; check his performance calendar online at www.stinkifacemusic.com/home for details. The promotional tour with his band, "The Out Of Water eXperience" will continue throughout the spring and summer. The album release show/party takes place on Saturday, January 29th in Baltimore at the14Karat Cabaret at 218 West Saratoga Street. In addition to Femi performing with his band “The Out of Water eXperience”, there will be additional performances by D.C.’s own Green Tea, Marc Marcel, Chuck The Mad Ox, Native Son, and Word Wide from York, Pennsylvania.
